Towards the end of 2014, Asahi Refining took over from Johnson Matthey, one of the most respected names in precious metal manufacturing, and one with close to 200 years of experience behind it. The Johnson Matthey name has featured on countless gold and silver bars, all produced to an exceptional standard. And with their 1 ounce gold bar, Asahi Refining have done this historic brand proud.

These bars are not only produced to the same high standard that made Johnson Matthey such a revered name throughout the industry, but they are also produced in the same North American refinery that Johnson Matthey used.

This is 1 ounce of .9999 bullion grade gold, and it comes with a unique serial number and an assay certificate.

Product Details

This 1 ounce gold bar was created in Salt Lake City, in the same refinery that has churned out countless classic Johnson Matthey products over the years. Asahi Refining have been creating products here since 2014, when they acquired the JM name and facilities in a deal worth about $162 million. Asahi had existed for a number of years before this, but this takeover signaled a huge leap into the bullion industry for them, and following the Johnson Matthey acquisition this 1 ounce gold bar has been one of their flagship products.

With a high purity of gold, an exceptionally polished design, and a low denomination, this 1 ounce gold bar from Asahi provides a great starting-point for first-time investors, and an ideal bulk pur-chase for large-scale investors seeking something with a high liquidity.

Features

This bar looks and feels like the classic Johnson Matthey bar, as Asahi Refining have retained the shape, thickness and sharpness that made their products such a hit, and the strike is also extraor-dinary, with the inscriptions and logo all prominent. All of these bars come individually packaged and include an assay.

As well as the Asahi Refining stamp, the exterior of the package also includes the certification sig-nature, as well as details on the purity and the weight of the bar. Some of these details are also included on the front of the bar itself, including the Asahi Refining name and logo, along with a unique serial number. The Asahi Refining logo can also be found on the back of the bar, where it forms a repeating pattern.
